This blog is run by the students and faculty of the "Introduction to the Francophone World" class offered at Daystar University in Kenya. The inaugural class is being offered in the August 2014 semester.
The class offers a broad survey of areas where the French language is spoken, mainly in the African continent and the African diaspora.
The class is taught in English, and is open to all students in the university. It is designed to attract students who may want know more about this part of the world but may not have a strong enough foundation to learn it in the French language. It is also one of the classes that students who major or minor in French at Daystar University must take.
The class regularly welcomes guests who are not students.
